Helped a friend with a 'ner do well ancestor. She thought his name was Clifton. We found him as William Clifton Burger, and as many different ways to spell that name without using a 'e' as the 2nd letter. Various records listed Burgner. Some said he was Irish and others that he was from TN or NC. His father appears to be Shell[e]y Bates Burger and he wasn't Irish.
